Teen Rising Star Cover Girl 2011 Stephanie Nicole Gonzalez
While standing under the stage lights, all I could feel were nerves. There were butterflies in my stomach, my throat was in knots, and I was trembling all over. Then as they announced my name as the new Teen Rising Star Cover Girl, my face lit up with joy. The anticipation was over, and a smile was engraved on my face. My time is mostly spent at school where I work hard every single day to maintain a high GPA and stay in the top 5% of my class at South Texas Business, Education &Technology Academy. I have also been given the
opportunity to get a head start in college as a concurrent enrollment student at the University
of Texas Pan-American. At school, I am a member of the National Honor Society. I help ease the transition of middle to high school for underclassmen by being a Kick-Off Mentor. I also help by motivating them to do well in all of their classes. I am an education student who gets the opportunity to visit Freddy Gonzalez Elementary where I interact with the students and gain hands-on experience being a teacher.
As a member of my school’s Spanish Club, I will be able to go to San Antonio and meet a variety of students as well as compete in several competitions at the Pan American Student
Forum of Texas. My aspiration after high school is to obtain a Ph.D. in Physical Therapy. I have always hoped to find a career that I enjoy where I can make a difference in people’s lives as well. Without the loving support of my family and friends, the accomplishments that I have made in my life would have never been possible. My mom encourages me to accomplish all of my goals and reach my dreams. My sister is my number one role model
who pushes me to give it my all and do my absolute best. My friends will always lend a
helping hand and are a great group of cheerleaders. I am very grateful to have such
wonderful support from wonderful people. I am truly honored to have the
opportunity to represent not only this title but the magazine as well. During my reign, I hope
be a great role model for younger generations. I know I can’t change the world, but I am
determined to make a difference no matter how small.
I am looking forward to working with my new pageant sisters and all of the Rising Star
staff. I know this year will be filled with great memories and experiences that will help me
grow as an individual.
