Miss Weslaco and Miss Texas Onion Fest Pageants

Splash into Spring with the Miss Texas Onion Fest and Miss Weslaco 2012 pageants, set to take place on March 2nd and 3rd at the Weslaco ISD Performing Arts Center.

Young girls living in the Mid Valley Area are encouraged to compete in the Texas Onion Fest pageants in one of three age divisions. The Springsweet Miss Division for ages 10 and 11, Miss Onion Blossom, ages 12 and 13, and Miss Texas Onion Fest, ages 14 and 15 are now open to compete in for those living in Weslaco, Mercedes, Donna, Progreso, Edcouch or Elsa. Entry fee is $75 and due by February 17, 2012.

Last year, 15 young ladies competed for the coveted title of Miss Weslaco. This year’s competition is open to ladies that are currently sophomores or juniors in high school, have grades in good standing, and live within the Weslaco city limits. The entry fee is $125 and applications are also do by February 17, 2012.

Contestants are encouraged to pick up an application at either J. Nava Studios or the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce office. We encourage all young ladies to compete for these prestige titles with the hope that they enjoy the opportunity to serve their community and grow into more confident young women through this experience.
